Sazerac is auctioning off some of its most prized whiskies to raise funds for the American Red Cross disaster relief effort. Following Hurricanes Helene and Milton, which devastated Western North Carolina and Florida last fall.
In the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale used to measure hurricane strength, Helene ranked as a Category 4 hurricane. However, the winds of Hurricane Milton ranked as a Category 5.
Bottles from the Sazerac Company’s top distilleries, including Buffalo Trace Distillery, The Last Drop Distillers, Barton 1792 Distillery, and A. Smith Bowman Distillery, are available at the online auction.
“Our hearts go out to the families and communities affected by these devastating storms,” said Jake Wenz, CEO of Sazerac.
“Our goal is to help aid the Hurricanes Milton and Helene recovery efforts in cities and states most impacted by the storms. Every dollar raised will go directly to those in need. We thank the American Red Cross for everything they do.”
