The Whisky Aficionados’ Network Hosts Special Whisky Event
Whisky Aficionados’ Network reached new heights on Saturday 24 at the Barclays Tradeston campus in Glasgow. With its best networking event to date, it is a distinctive monthly networking group for professionals passionate about premium spirits.
This exclusive club began ten years ago with just a small group of regulars but now hosts up to 35 members at its headquarters. The whisky club meets at 168 Bath Street, home of WBG, one of Scotland’s leading independent full-service accountants.
Approximately 70 people attended Saturday night´s special whisky event. Whisky enthusiasts enjoyed exceptional whiskies and engaged in casual networking with fellow professionals from a range of industries.

As is customary for these gatherings, the host represented a prominent entity in the whisky industry, such as a distillery, blender, or whisky society. Dougal Barr, Global Brand Ambassador for Douglas Laing, a family-owned Scotch whisky company, led the proceedings.
Members enjoyed the club’s signature six-dram tasting session, creating connections between like-minded individuals. No one noticed the time slipping by as they sipped whiskies and explored a range of exceptional whiskies.
It is built to provide a unique platform where professionals can expand their connections while indulging in Scotland’s national spirit. The Whisky Aficionados’ Network continues to prove that business networking can be both productive and enjoyable.
Scott Grant, business development director at Wbg, said: “Like Wbg, 168 Whisky Club relishes its role of championing smaller, independent enterprises with ambition to scale their operations.
“The Club allows us to shine a light on our hosts’ unique whisky offerings while affording an opportunity for guests to discuss pressing business issues of the day among a congenial business and professional audience at an informal and mutually beneficial networking event.”
In addition, the network enables Wbg to showcase its accounting, auditing, and tax services to the whisky industry. Among those attending were representatives from Wbg’s Aberdeen, investment firm N4 Partners, and partners and clients from Barclays and Wbg.
