One of Japan’s biggest distilleries has become the latest whisky maker to join the cask divestment business. Ontake Distillery inked a partnership with the virtual whisky cask platform, Dekantā.
According to a report by Spirit Business, whisky fans have the opportunity to join its cask program and leverage investments. This is the third distillery to offer Japanese whisky casks via the Dekantā investment platform. Karuizawa Whisky and the Iiyama Mountain Farm Distillery are two other producers who currently offer their casks ith the brand.
A post on Dekantā’s website declared that it was offering a rare opportunity to fans. ”As Karuizawa Whisky’s exclusive global partner, it is our distinct pleasure to offer you the rare opportunity to own one of the extremely limited casks.
“The Iiyama Mountain Farm Distillery is redefining the future of Japanese whisky through its innovative farm-to-bottle approach. While cultivating its own hybrid barley while supporting local farming communities.”
Ontake Distillery Offers Cask Investment to Fans
Whisky fans who like golfing will enjoy a visit to the Ontake Distillery property. Since its foundation in 2019, the brand has led the way as the only distillery with an 18-hole golf course. Investors will have the option to visit the course and taste the whisky produced from their casks.
