The OurWhisky Foundation has been named as the official education partner of Bar Convent Berlin (BCB) 2024. BCB confirmed in May that whisky was this year’s ‘Spirit of Honour’. It will host a dedicated education area to the spirit at this year’s three-day trade show.
“We see whisky is enjoying ever-increasing popularity – both in retail and in bars,” said BCB director Petra Lassahn. “This spirit has reinvented itself, become more modern, and is currently very trendy. And this is what we want to mirror at BCB with a dedicated area.”
It will feature seminars and masterclasses curated by the OurWhisky Foundation. A non-profit organization that was founded by journalist Becky Paskin in 2022. The OurWhisky Foundation supports, recognizes, and empowers women in the global whisky industry.

While providing continuing education at the highest level, the comprehensive Whisky Embassy program will examine the complex processes of whisky production, its versatile taste, and its origins.
Paskin said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to play an active part in BCB and to be able to use this great platform to draw attention to our organization and to the subject of whisky.
“We hope to welcome all BCB visitors to our education area to enhance their education and experience of this wonderful spirit and ignite their love of whisky.”
Paskin discusses gender equality in whisky in episode six of The Spirits Business Podcast. The episode is available for streaming on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Amazon.
Bar Convent Berlin, the international bar and beverage trade show, announced the OurWhisky Foundation as its education partner. OWF is a UK-based non-profit organization that supports and champions women in the whisky industry through initiatives such as mentoring.
During this year’s trade fair, the charity will have its educational section, known as the ‘Whisky Embassy,’ where seminars will be curated by its founder, Becky Paskin.
