Kavalan Distillery has released its first spirits for the 2025 production year. Dubbed Grand Reserve No.1 and No. 2, both are released exclusively to Lotte Duty Free.
The distillery has created unique expressions using Vinho wine casks, with the oak treated using the shave-toast-recharge (STR) technique. Whisky makers are trending this process to extract additional flavor for their products.
The Grand Reserve No. 1 profile showcases Vinho wine casks and rare Spanish Amontillado sherry casks. The spirit emits the odors of apricot jam, dried berries, and caramel cream.
